SkillsProviding web-development and research skills for an implementation of a private social network for a university project. Research includes data-mining user profiles to extract their knowledge and skills, then use these skills to match users between each other and suggest people who are likely to induce innovation and increase added value on the project.
Web development skills were required to then translate data obtained from an API into a social network, as well as providing a view for the data-mining exercise carried out so each user can enjoy the benefits of our matching-system.
Working as part of a team responsable of the main corporate website http://www.rtfx.com; providing innovative designs and solutions to further grow the website and its reputation. I have been in charge of implementing and executing a strategy to improve the website speed; following which the website speed improved drastically from being constantly the slowest amongst competitors to becoming the fastest with a load time of approx 1 second.
I was also placed in charge of overseeing the implementation of two new Websites, one interacting with an Internal API for client interface. And the other an educational site about Forex. Including 3-tier page navigation, quizes, calendar and event subscription amongst other features. Both sites were derived from initially approved PSD screens, CMS implementation as well as slicing up and implementing the designs with pixel-perfect details were part of my duties.
Assigned the task to conceptualize and implement a website which allowed users to interact with a map, yet find all the possible information on all the places available. Built the system using Symphony CMS with multilingual support, so it could be easily extended. In addition to work on the front-end side to provide a seam-less experience to the end user.
A Symphony Extension to plug in an external API provided by HireDesk which contained job listings - which had to be imported on a nightly basis and displayed on the website from a local cache. The extension also included data-sources to allow for the display of this data using various parameters.
A fresh website for Eduline Malta, enabling the company to provide a better on-line portal for its clients better displaying its services. A complete website redesign and CMS were required in the process, giving an end-result which was to client's satisfaction and most importantly gave the client control over the website's content.
Creating a web-portal for a local upcoming celebrity is never an easy task; with limited resources I had to design a website that promotes his professional and artistic image; whilst also providing as a portal for fans to interact. This has thus requested a tight interaction with social media where every photo and video has a Facebook Comment box so that any comments will automatically promote the singer on Facebook itself.
Responsible for the branding process and website building; as well as the undertaking of a SEO campaign to ensure that the press release distribution service has good opportunities in appearing in search for releated terms. SEO optimization was mainly done using on-page strategies whilst quality articles and press releases would have guaranteed plenty of incoming backlinks links. The website was built upon Symphony-CMS with additional custom extensions and custom built template.
Responsible of a re-branding process in addition to creating a web presence for the company. SEO was also done to help improve ranking on specific key terms. A CMS system was also designed to allow non-technical people to update the website if necessary; including a system to upload photos into the gallery.
A Symphony Extension, to allow developers to link particular data-sources to specific entries in the back-end. This way when you add entry to a page the additional data-source is automatically attached to the page.
